Belvidere has been a well-established and popular Care Home in the community since 1985.  It is close to all local services and is situated just a mile from the centre of Dudley. Service users enjoy all the comforts of home and we are ideally located near to transport links.  There is a bus stop right outside the Home at which bus numbers 246, 248, 300, 310, 312 and 313 stop.  Local amenities such as shops, places of worship, public library, pub, Post Office, bank and other facilities are also close by.  Belvidere is about a mile away from the historic Brierley Glass Centre and the Merry Hill shopping complex.  We are also closely situated to Dudley Zoo and Castle and only half a mile from Russell’s Hall Hospital.

Bedrooms:
Belvidere offers twenty-two single bedrooms and three companion bedrooms on ground and first floors. We currently have four beds with an en-suite WC, including one en-suite shower, and have plans to upgrade other rooms in the coming months.

Lounges:
We have three lounges on the ground floor.  Each offers a range of comfortable, upholstered chairs and is fully carpeted and purposefully domestic in appearance.  There is discrete wall and ceiling lighting, coffee tables, televisions, Hi-fi and large print books.

Dining Room:
We have one main dining room on the ground floor next to the kitchen. The main dining room has safety non slip flooring and is tastefully decorated.  We also provide a dining table and chairs in one of our lounges to enable service users to eat their meals in an alternative area if they wish.  Service users can also have their meals in their bedroom if they prefer.

Conservatory:
A conservatory extension was added to the dining room in 2006 enabling service users to enjoy our garden in the warmth of remaining indoors. It is fitted with wall lights and has non slip tiling on the floor.

Toilets and Bathrooms:
Toilet facilities are near to focal points such as lounges and dining room.  Each toilet is equipped with aids to help service user’s independence.  There are three bathrooms, two of which include toilet facilities. There are also four separate toilets around the Home, and additional staff/visitors’ bathrooms that include toilet facilities.

Vertical Passenger and Stair Lifts:
Belvidere is equipped with a centrally located four-person passenger lift, which is fully maintained and serviced.  The lift gives access from ground floor to first floor level. Belvidere is also equipped with two stair lifts to assist service users.

Public Telephone:
Service users are able to use the pay telephone, which is situated in the main foyer area by the front door on the ground floor.  Service users are able to sit in private on a comfortable chair when accessing this service. Alternatively, service users may receive calls via the landline.

Friends of Belvidere Association: The Friends of Belvidere Association was established in September 2008. The purpose of this association is to involve all interested parties in the decision making of all aspects of the ‘Home,’ including activities, events and outings. A meeting is held at 2pm on the second Saturday of each month at Belvidere. These meetings are chaired by Mrs. Christine Perks (a family member of one of our service user’s).
